THE fast green bike

The fast green bike has emerged from her summer slumber. She needed a little coaxing in the form of a little air in the old tires to ready her for the road. It was about a week ago that I dusted her off. I'm not so sure it was a happy occation for the old girl. She coughed and protested everytime I tried to switch her gears, making my legs jerk in an attempt to buck me off. When the old girl realized this was a failed effort she belched her chain off its tracks leaving me greasey and struggling to put it back on. Well, I got it. But in a way the fast green bike got me again. I was too scared to try to shift gears again for fear of her belching the chain off again so I was forced to pedal as fast as I could the rest of the way home because it was in the lowest gear possible. It's now about a week later and I am considering another ride. Never fear, their shall be many more tales from the bike to be told! Let's hope there's no blood shed this year...

Doe Ray Me Fa So La T DDDDOOOOEEEE!

I love to sing. Really, I do it to benefit the fortunate people who happen to be around when a tune takes over my head. I am well aware of my amazing voice and I feel it is my duty to share it. I would describe it as the voice of an angel. Now I realize that I may sound as if I have quite a high head on these shoulders but I assure you there are no other words to describe my voice. I have to admit I feel my voice is slightly underappreciated by those I try to share my talents with. I have even been sternly told to SHUT UP! a time or two. But I will continue to share the beauty, I refuse to be discouraged by those who clearly need their ears tuned.

Girl or Machine

I'm a little nervous here. I am taking a photo technique class and I am under the assumption that my instructor has hypnotized me into some horrible photo machine. I've become mechanical in a sense. Trudging along the fine line that is my life, camera in tow almost everywhere I go. (when it's not with me I inevitablely wish it was) Perfectly normal things are catching my attention. I turn to observe and feel my eyes rotate in and out like the auto focus on my camera. And, I also think it is how a fly's eye works. I don't know why I think that but I sure hope he hasn't hypnotized me into an insect. That would be very bad. A fly releases some kind of unmentionable bodily fluid every time it lands. So far THAT hasn't happened. (thankfully!) Back to the photo making machine I have become. I now scan every surface. Wow that has great texture. Look at that asymmetical set up. How much more geometric can you get. There's an implied line if there ever was one. I hope Mr. Zizzi snaps his finger when the class is over so I can be my nearly normal self again. Hopefully a better photographer too!

First Blog Jitters

I have put so much thought into what my very first blog would be about. So many wonderful thoughts have raced through my head. All of them would have indeed been ideal places to start. What's the trouble you ask? Why have the VERY first and ONLY first blog be about absolutely nothing? Just some jibberish ranting on about NOTHING! Well, let me tell you. I come up with the most brilliant ideas you would all enjoy and talk about for years to come only at the most inconvenient times possible. Such as while sauntering down the grocery store ailes or at lunch. Always while miles away from the nearest computer. By the time I get to typing it out the whit is gone. Better to carry on about nothing to satisfy the millions out there who have been anxiously awaiting this VERY FIRST BLOG. I promise, I will get my thoughts in order and post something worthy of reading very soon!

Fast Green Bikes and Other Whimsies

Welcome to the soon-to-be amazing blog of Allison Pierce. (That is, it's going to be amazing once Camille stops blogging for her...) This is actually Camille now, just getting my boss Allison started on her venture into the blogging world. Let's all welcome her with lots of Comments of Encouragement!
